We had not been home long from the meeting when there was a knock on the door. When Tammy opened the door 5 of the neighborhood men were there. Tammy asked them to come and then she went to make a pot of coffee. We all sat down at the tables in the diningroom and Jim the neighbor behind us was the first to speak up. "We need to fight this. We can't let Fema come in and take over when we have been doing good on our own for so long. Besides they were no where around when we did need them so what makes them think we need them now?" I told him it was simple. "They wanted our food and our resources for the big cities and the only way to stop them was to make our resources less desireable. They asked me how we did that. First off we start with the women that are doing the cooking for them. We will gather weeds and berries that will make them sick and hide them in the food we prepare. Then we will catch bugs that are harmful to the produce and add them to the baskets of produce after they have been picked and are being loaded on the train. Remember Mr. Fema Man said the train would be stopping here in town twice a week to pick up all the produce. We don't want to put the bugs in our gardens because then we may lose all of it so people will hide them in their pockets and put them in the baskets once they are on the train. You know they are not going to have the guards load the train they are going to make the town folks do it.
When the young adults are picking they can handle the produce as rough as possible when no one is looking so they bruise it bad enough that it rots before it gets to where its going. We need a way to collect the oils from poison ivy to add to the food the women cook and on to the produce. Once enough people keep getting poison ivy they will no longer want the produce. The most important thing is not to openly revolt. We need to do everything under cover so that they will not know who is doing it or even suspect any one of doing any thing.
First thing is for the women who have to report for duty at the kitchen tomorrow not to do anything. We will wait a couple of days. It's important that these people get out and get around near enough to poison ivy we can say they got it that way. On the third of fourth day who ever does the cooking will cook spinach and add poison ivy leaves to the spinach. One cooked it might be hard to tell the ivy from the actual spinch. I am going to try it here tomorrow first and see what happens. Next we will serve some of them chocolate cakes made with laxitives in them. There will be other cakes that have nothing added so only some of them get the runs. The same with the spinach. What ever we do we will have to make sure no more than a third of them come down with the same thing and a time.
Any town folks that come down with colds or anything else we will find a way to get them in direct contact with the outsiders. A old screw here and there under the tires of their trucks can make for some nice flat tires which takes time to change. A tire with a slow leak can also take time to air up and check of leaks. Fleas can be caught and put in their clothes and rooms where they are staying. Most of the house hold pets now have fleas now that people no longer have acess to flea medications so we should be able to get some easy enough. A few poke salad leaves chopped up in a green salad should do some damage to.
As we go along and they keep getting sicker and sicker we will step things up with the revolt. We will add more toxic items to the food. Town folk will have to act sick at times so they won't suspect that we are doing something. And if none of that works we will have no choice but to stand and fight. If it comes to that the town folks need to be prepared to die because it is going to be a blood bath so make sure everyone understands what the risks are. In the mean time maybe we can come up with other ways to get rid of them."
Every one agreed to try my simple ideas first and if they did not work then we would step up to more drastic means. We want to hold off on an out right revolt if possible. I hope that we can get Fema and the rest of them out of town quick. I am not sure how long we will be able to keep some of the town folks from out right revolt for long. For me personally I can't wait until its my turn to give smug faced Mr. Fema Man his comuppence.
