I have them hidden around the house so no one would know just how many I have. I don't collect them so much for looks though some of them I did. I collect them for power outages.
I bought most of these at thrift stores or yard sales for 25 cents to $3. Every time find a cheap candle holder I buy it. When I was gathering them up to pack I seriouly thought about putting some of them in the yard sale but some one reminded me that they would make a good barter item if I ever need to barter something if SDHTF.
I know I have at least another 20 hidden through out the house. I have holders for tea lights, votives, tapers, pillars and the large 3 wick ones. Of course that does not count all the jarred candles I have. I think there is about 15 of them.
I will not be depending on candles alone to light my little world when there is a power outage or the power grid goes down for a long time. I also have 11 oil lamps with the plan of getting a few more of them before long. The next ones I buy will be the old fashion railroad lanterns that have handles so they can be hung up high.
The cheapest part of preparing for any survival event is getting candles, candles holders and lanterns. They can be found very cheap at yard sales and thrift stores.
And truth be told you can never have to many. You can either share with your family or barter for other goods if need be.
So when are enough candle holders enough? Never really, when you think of what all you can do with them if SHTF.

*** Don't forget to buy the lamp oil or kerosene and matches and a good supply of candles that fit each of your candle holders.
