What's in your Bug Out Bag? Here's whats in mine.

I keep a bug out bag right next to our front door, packed and ready to go. We would only leave if something happened at one of the two nuclear plants that are with in 25 miles of us. Other than that we plan on bugging in if we ever have to.

My husband and I share one bug out bag and there is another bigger one for our son. The reason for this is because my husband is disabled and would not be able to carry a bag for very long. I would not be able to carry every thing we would need in one bag so some of our stuff is also in my son's bag.

In our bag I keep:
a month's worth of meds for both me and my husband.
4 pairs of socks a piece and 4 pair of underwear and a bra for me.
6 packages of tuna
6 packages of freeze dried soup mix
One box of granola bars
One box of tea bags
One box of coffee bags like tea bags
One box of instant oatmeal
3 bags of dried fruit
2 bags of trail mix
2 bags of mixed nuts
A first aid kit that can be used as a pillow in an emergency
2 Bic lighters
2 boxes of strike any where kitchen matches
A journal with 3 pens
Copies of all our important papers
8 Mylar emergency blankets
8 pack of AA batteries
8 pack of AAA batteries
2 flashlights
1 Eton Solar/Battery Powered Weather radio w/AM/FM radio, flashlight and cell phone charger
A pair of gloves for me and a pair for my husband
Some sanitary napkins for heavy bleeding from injuries
A small manual can opener
3 collapesable drinking cups
2 toothbrushes
small tube of toothpaste
two pocket knives
6 small boxes ammo

In my son's bag:
A change of clothes for all 3 of us
4 pair of socks and 4 pair of underwear for my son
2 flash lights
8 pack of AA batteries
8 pack of AAA batteries
3 boxes beef sticks
1 box of granola bars
2 boxes of cheese and crackers
6 Hormel meals that can be eaten cold if need be
4 bags of dried fruit
4 bags of mixed nuts
2 packages of jerky
2 Bic lighters
2 boxes wooden kitchen matches
A second first aid kit w/ a first aid book
4 Mylar blankets
4 toothbrushes
2 small tubes of toothpaste
3 packs of insoles
a box of plastic sliverware
3 tubes of chapstick
2 tubes of lotion
a pair of gloves for my son
3 winter hats
two folding knives
6 boxes of ammo
manual can opener
fishing line and hooks
sewing kit
3 pair sunglasses
mirror
Fresnal lense
a pair of pot holders
3 rain ponchos
2 bars soap
towel
large trash bags
toilet paper
a roll of paper towels that have the roll taken out and flattened
foil
a box of gallon ziploc bags to keep our feet dry if our shoes get wet

Next to the bug out bags I keep a picnic basket filled with:
Two blue speckled pots
One stove top coffee pot
4 metal camping plates
4 metal camping coffee cups
a set of metal cooking utensils
a pair of pot holders

The picnic basket sits on top of a milk crate which has a 10 inch cast iron skillet
and a cast iron dutch oven. If we have time we will grab the picnic basket and milk crate. If not we will leave it behind

Next to all of this is my husband portable oxygen machine and his portable nebulizer. These are kept in their own bug out bag and will be the first one grabbed.

I change out the food a little each month. The batteries I change out at each time change. The meds are changed out every month for newer prescriptions.

So that is what in our bug out bags what is in your?
