We are now on a time table for the move. Our new home is all lined up. We have paid our deposit and signed the rental agreement. The moving truck is reserved and we have people who are going to help us load up the truck here and more people to help us unload when we get there. We will be leaving here early in the morning on Aug. 15 and will be down there around 6-7 pm that night.
First I will tell you about our new home. It is a 38 ft x 80 ft double wide. It has 4 bedrooms, one of which will be my prep room, two full baths, a huge living room, big kitchen (the biggest one I have ever had) and a den. There is a huge walk in closet in the master bedroom which will be used for preps to since there is no way hubby and I will ever fill it with our stuff. Neither of us have ever amassed a lot of clothes.
It all sets on an acre of land out in the country. We have some family that will only be 5 houses down from us. The owner is being kind enough to put a big deck with a ramp for my hubby to get in and out of the house with and making sure that we all have enough room for all of us to sit out on it on a nice day or evening. He says I can have a garden anywhere I want and I can have up to two dozen chickens but will have to pay for my own coop which I had planned to do any way. He is also allowing me to have rabbits. He is not sure on the goats yet. I guess he wants to see how well we take care of the place before he is willing to go that far.
Now the rush is on to finish packing and to have one more yard sale to get rid of what we don't want. After that what ever is left is going to the Salvation Army. I still have a lot of packing to do. I packed 9 boxes just today alone. Since the new house is a lot bigger that the 1900 sq ft we are living in now I can take more with me. LOL
Oh and the biggest plus about the whole thing is that it comes with a storm cellar so we will have a safe place to go if a tornado happens.
I can't wait to get my backside down south so I can garden longer each year. I will really be able to add to my preps then. :)
